Descendents of William Lewis
and Mary Prior |
William Lewis and his wife Mary moved to the
panhandle area of Florida circa 1822 and bought land two miles
from present-day Campbellton, FL. After an outbreak of Yellow
Fever in the 1830s, they moved again to Dale County, AL and settled.
In an early 1860 study on the history of Dale County, William
Lewis was living. But, when the Census was taken in June of 1860
he was no longer alive - indicating that he died in 1860. |
