Descendents of Prior Henry Lewis and Mary Ann Godbold
Prior Henry Lewis died in Cairo, Thomas County (now Grady County), GA in 1877. He arrived in Thomas County in late 1827 or early 1828 and was a member of the Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church of (then) Decatur County, GA. He was also a charter member and minister of the Poplar Springs Church when it was formed in 1840 until close to his death. Prior Henry Lewis served as a Captain in the Thomas County Militia in 1836.
