Prior Henry Lewis died in Cairo, Thomas County
(now Grady County), GA in 1877. He arrived in Thomas County in
late 1827 or early 1828 and was a member of the Tired Creek Primitive
Baptist Church of (then) Decatur County, GA. He was also a charter
member and minister of the Poplar Springs Church when it was
formed in 1840 until close to his death. Prior Henry Lewis served
as a Captain in the Thomas County Militia in 1836. |
