James Bryant Lewis was a First Lieutenant in the Wayne County, GA Militia, 335th District, 1831-1836, and Captain 1836-1839. He was Justice of Wayne County Inferior Court from 1839 to 1841, and again from 1849 to 1862. He was also the Wayne County Tax Collector from 1840 to 1841.
