North Carolina County Courthouse Deed Records

North Carolina began keeping records of land transactions, wills, and other legal instruments as soon as the Colony was formed. Colonial records are quite extensive, as are the State records, but the Author has only had time to collect Deed Records for the following counties so far. Additions will be made when time permits. The following items pertain only to Lewises in the counties prior to 1900, and offers only limited information. To attempt to recreate ALL records would require much more resources than the author has available at this time.

Note: The following Web Pages are very "data rich" and may take a long time to appear on your screen. Once onscreen, you might want to go ahead and print them or download them to your hard drive for future reference.
