Boaz Lewis's parents were Early and Elizabeth Lewis - both of whom the Author has not been able to pin down as to their origins. If anyone has more information on Early and Elizabeth Lewis, please contact me at the address shown below. Boaz Lewis served in the 36th NC Regiment (2nd Artillery) in 2nd Company A. In late 1863, this Company was disbanded and regrouped into Moseley's Company - a separate Company but somewhat attached to the 36th NC Regiment until the end of the war. Boaz served in Moseley's Company until January 12, 1864 when he was discharged due to disability. In the 1880 US Census for Sampson County, Boaz and his family were residing in Honneycutts section of Sampson County. In the 1900 US Census, Boaz and family were listed in the Little Coharie Township within Sampson County, NC. |
